Lake Day

Going to the lake on a nice summer day can be exciting to look forward to, but there are products that you need to bring with you so you are prepared for the whole day and have what you need in case something happens during your day on the lake. It is important you make a list of products to bring for your adventure, and if you are unsure what those products might be that you need to bring I’ll help you out by naming them and giving you a good brand to go by so you can get the best experience for your summer day. Of course, this list is not all inclusive. There may be other essential items you may need, but these are just a few of my ideas.

  1. Water - Now this may vary on how much you should bring depending on how many people go with you. But if you like to be safe with the environment like me, bring reusable water bottles and fill them up with the water fountains that could be near the restrooms.

  2. Snacks - This is definitely an important one to me cause I always need my food haha. You can pack a variety of snacks like sandwiches, chips, crackers, fruit, vegetables, and more! All depends on your taste buds and what you think you will crave during the day. This is also a smart way to eat throughout the day, so you don’t have to spend too much money at a restaurant or store.

  3. Sunscreen - You do not want to get sunburned because I know I wouldn’t! A couple brands that I love and work best that I recommend are Banana Boat, Hawaiian Tropic, and Sun Bum. These three sunscreens work wonders and definitely keep you from getting burnt from the sun.

  4. Floaties - I personally love getting my floaties from Amazon or Target because they both have cute selections to choose from and have options that come in packs for a good price. There are even options of floaties that you can hold drinks in! Now that is a clever idea so you don’t have to get out of the water for a beverage.

  5. Cooler with a lot of ice - The brand Yeti is for sure a great brand to go for if you are okay with spending a little money on a cooler for your drinks and snacks. But if a Yeti is a bit out of your budget, the brand Coleman is more budget friendly and is similar to a Yeti in size and quality.

  6. Sunglasses - Finding your favorite pair of sunglasses you want can be difficult because there are so many options with so many different prices. If you are thinking of going in the water with your sunglasses, I would not recommend bringing expensive ones with you because you may lose them in the water and be unable to retrieve them. If you want to find some cheap sunglasses that do in fact have the UV protection in them, you could run out to your nearest dollar store and grab a pair from there. I have indeed done this and turned out to love how they looked on me.

  7. Towels - Some towels can run a bit out of budget as well when you're looking for some to bring with you to the lake. I will be honest with you, you do not need to bring an expensive towel with you to the lake. It is going to get dirty during your day there. Towels from Five Below, Target, Walmart, or Dollar Store are all in a budget friendly area that you can enjoy looking at and be okay with getting them dirty as well.

  8. Extra clothes - It is definitely a good idea to bring some extra clothes with you to the lake so when you are done enjoying your time in the water and sand, you can change into some fresh, clean clothes and not be soaked for the rest of the day.

  9. Hammock - Parachute hammocks would be an ideal hammock type to bring to the lake because they are adjustable, durable, lightweight, and easy to set up. Rather than having to bring a hammock that you have to set up with a lot of parts and tools, a parachute hammock will only need to be unfolded and tied up to wherever you want to set it up.

  10. Trash bag - Glad trash bags are a perfect brand to obtain for a lake day because they are durable, leak-proof, and a convenient size that won’t end up being too heavy when full.

  11. First aid kit - Johnson & Johnson is an inexpensive and reliable brand to obtain for a lake trip because it has all the items you will need, such as bandaids, gauze, wipes, tape, Tylenol, and more! For sure a great brand to bring along for the trip.

  12. Hats - Any type of hat you love to wear will be great protection from the sun for your face. You don’t want to get sun poisoning during your fun trip.

  13. Bug spray - There are definitely a lot of brands of bug spray that you can buy. But I would say the brand OFF! because it is the most effective spray you can find. The only con about this brand is that it does smell funky, but is still very effective.

  14. Waterproof speaker - It’s fun listening to music while hanging on the lake with friends and family. But since there will be water everywhere, either coming off of you or the lake itself, you will want a waterproof speaker. The best brand for being waterproof would be JBL and there are multiple different types of sizes that you can choose from.

  15. Portable charger - Anker would be the best portable charger for your phone. It is easy to hold, fast charging, and lasts a long time with its charge.

As you can see, there are many different items that you may need to bring for your lake trip. This may not be everything you need to bring or there may be other items as well that I haven’t listed, but this is what I would bring to a lake day trip. Hope this helps for your next lake trip! :)
