Items for a carry-on
Preparing to go to the airport can sometimes be frustrating, but also exciting. It is always difficult to decide what products you should bring with you in your carry-on to make sure you have everything you will need on your flight. When deciding what to bring in your carry-on, it is always smart to make a list of the items you will want to take with you on the flight and be able to use these items. If you are unsure about what items are best to bring for a flight, don’t worry I will help you out by listing the best products and what brands will be best for you. Of course the items I will be listing may not be everything you want or need, but these are just the items that come to my mind when thinking of what to bring along for a flight.
Chargers for phone, tablet, laptop – It is always important to carry your chargers for your devices in your carry-on because when waiting for your flight, and even on your flight you will be using your devices more than usual to keep yourself entertained. While being in the airport there will always be an outlet somewhere to plug in your devices. There is also an outlet that will be by your seat on your flight for your device in case too.
Headphones – Bluetooth and wireless headphones are great to have for your traveling, but for going on a flight it would be better to carry an extra pair of headphones that are wired. Having wired headphones will be handy to have so you can use and listen to the airplane entertainment systems. If you are looking for an inexpensive set of headphones there are some on Amazon that will be great for the flight. Wired Headphones
Passport/ID – Having your identification is important to have on you at all times. When going through airport security you need to show your passport or ID, so it is crucial you keep these on you in your carry on to be able to get through security and get on your flight.
Travel wallet with cash and credit cards – You will want to make sure you have your credit cards and cash, so you are able to make purchases within the airport if you need or want anything. Plus making sure you have your payment methods near you at all times will be more protected and safe rather than having them in your luggage which will not be near you during the entire flight. Having a travel wallet would be most beneficial because it is small and easy to access. For men I recommend a travel wallet from Amazon: Men's Travel Wallet and for women I recommend a travel wallet from Amazon as well, but here are two options: Women's Travel Wallet 1 & Women's Travel Wallet 2.
Confirmations for flight and hotel – You may think that you won’t need to have your confirmation papers for your flight and hotel on you, but it is better to have them by your side in your carry on than nowhere near you at all. Just like the saying “Better Safe than Sorry.” ;)
Medications – Carrying your medications in your carry-on will make these essential items easy to access regardless of any delays or time changes. If you take multiple medications, consider a pill organizer. One organizer I recommend is the ones that are colored for different days and have slots for morning and night. Here is an example of one that is budget friendly and perfect for your medications: Walmart Pill Organizer. Never stow prescription medications in checked baggage: If luggage is lost or delayed, replacing these medications while traveling can be extremely challenging or even impossible.
Change of clothes – Why might you need a change of clothes in your carry-on? Sometimes your luggage can go lost and it will take some time to get back to you. That is why putting an outfit or two in your carry-on will come in handy in case this problem ever occurs to you. But let’s hope it never will.
Neck pillow – Being able to rest during your flight will help leave you refreshed once you get to your destination. But when taking a nap on the flight your neck can get stiff and feel uncomfortable. That is why bringing along a neck pillow in your carry-on will help sleep comfortably. A neck pillow that I recommend is from Amazon, soft, and enjoyable: Amazon Neck Pillow.
Extra sweater – Sometimes it can get cold on your flight, that is why packing a light sweater will come in handy if you ever get cold.
Hand sanitizer – Let’s be real, traveling can be a little disgusting with having to touch everything around you. Carrying a travel hand sanitizer will keep your hands clean on the go and to disinfect the area around you, such as tables, arm rests, or tray tables. I recommend getting a small hand held size sanitizer so it will not take up so much space in your carry-on. One brand I recommend is Purell because it is known for getting rid of the unwanted germs. What is even better is that you can buy a pack of them from Amazon at a good price: 4 Ct Purell.
Water – Even though you can not bring water with you through security for your flight, you can purchase a bottle of water at a small shop in the airport. But if you do not want to purchase from shops, you can bring an empty reusable bottle that you can fill up at the water fountains.
Snacks – Now you can’t bring as many snacks as you want to through security, but in airports there will be restaurants and shops with food that you can go to.
As you can see, there are many different items you can pack in your carry-on for your flight. Now this may not be everything you need, but this is some of the main items that are important to pack in my opinion. Hope this helps! :)
